People know us as back doctors, but if your spine was in your arm we would be arm doctors.

We work with the body's inborn intelligence to improve it's function. Less injury, greater performance and increased immune response.

Universal Healthcare

Post  kerithp on Sat Jul 12, 2008 6:02 pm

I agree the 'healthcare' system is in trouble, but universal healthcare i doubt is the answer. It brings everyone to the lowest common denominator instead of raising or rising care for everyone.

I just recently returned after my last round of "your a cheater and we don't want to hear any argument about it" from the TW staff. I joked with others that I didn't want the mods to know I was back or they would come after me. Looks like I wasn't a big enough target for them this time so they decided to take out at least 1/4 of the tribe this time.

I've got to say the two weeks back with my old FEAR friends was a blast. This is a tavern right? Can I get some whisky!!??

It seems that the health companies are more interested in making profits than saving people's lives. The effect it has on the poor is quite disturbing.

The distrubing part is the amount of freebies given out to those not technically part of the system (illegal aliens) and just how the system works itself. The legal system and the politics behind it are the real problem with healthcare and most of the other major issues in the country.

If you order a hot coffee from McDonalds and you are dumb enough to spill it in your lap, and then go sue them for $20 million and win, something is seriously fucked up there. I heard about a case where a burglar was trying to break into a house through a skylight of a kitchen and fell through onto some knives. He then sued the owner for neglect or something like that for his injuries and he won the case. The out of control legal system as the insurance companies jacking up their rates sky high just to be able to attempt to cover their asses if something stupid like this happens. There is not a sense of personal responsibility left in this country right now. Its always someone else's fault.

OMG, Hell has frozen over. I'm disagreeing with Senator on something!

Everyone uses the McDonalds hot coffee suing example. However, few people realize why she was awarded the settlement. The reason was because McDonalds had records of many people calling and complaining that the coffee was too hot and they were burning their mouths. McDonalds did not put a warning on the cup. McDonalds did not reduce the temperature on the coffee.

All cases of negligence are based on what is known as the "reasonable person standard". Would a reasonable person have expected coffee to be hot? Of course. Would a reasonable person expect coffee to be so hot that taking a sip would burn their mouth? No. Since McDonalds failed to address what was becoming a prolific issue, the woman was awarded the money. Had McDonalds taken reasonable measures to address the complaints, she would not have won her case.

A dumb person would not realize that the coffee was hot by touching the cup.

Let the market drive the 'health'care system. I offer a cost effective alternative to traditional sickcare.
When I find something that is totally out of my scope I let people know - hey look your body has reached a limit that needs radical intervention, I don't do that, here is the name of someone who does.
